Twilight Trails is the Pokémon Go season for autumn 2026 and will bring a selection of new Pokémon. It also has the perfect name for spooky season, with some of the debuting Pokémon being suitably haunting. (Mega Chandelure anyone?) Alongside this, you can expect a range of new events and egg pool changes coming your way when Twilight Trails begins.

Twilight Trails start and end date
The Twilight Trails season starts on Tuesday 8th September at 10am (local time) and ends on Tuesday 1st December at 10am (local time). A new Pokémon Go season will begin when that second date passes.
Season 28 of the Go Battle League will also be running during this time period, running its three leagues and selection of special cups.
The Mega Squads event sees the release of Maschiff! Want to know what's happening this month? Then take a look at the September schedule. Don't forget to keep an eye out for both the rarest Pokémon and the best Pokémon in your travels.
New Pokémon debuts during Twilight Trails
Twilight Trails promises to bring more Paldea (Gen 9) Pokémon to Pokémon Go, with the release of Maschiff and Mabosstiff being announced. (Well we don't know when these dogs will be arriving exactly, but it's certainly in the near future.) Both of these dogs are Dark-type Pokémon and, if you've played Pokémon Scarlet and/or Violet, you'll know that Mabosstiff is rather crucial to its plot.
There's also two new Megas on the horizon in the form of Mega Staraptor and Mega Chandelure. These Mega Evolutions were originally released in Pokémon Legends Z-A, so, like the other Megas from these games, there's a good chance these forms will be available via Super Mega Raids.
Next up, let's take a look at the new Dynamax Pokémon you can expect to arrive during Twilight Trails:
- Dynamax Rhyhorn
- Dynamax Sneasel
- Dynamax Sizzlipede
- Dynamax Uxie
- Dynamax Mesprit
- Dynamax Azelf
At the time of writing, it's unclear whether Dynamax Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf will be regional variants in the same manner to their regular forms.
Zorua made an appearance in both the teaser and trailer for Twilight Trials, but it's unclear what this actually means at the moment. It could be a hint at a Zorua focused Community Day or maybe Zorua's just getting ready for Halloween.
Finally, the Twilight Trails also hinted at the return of certain costume Pokémon such as Day Scarf Espeon.
Twilight Trails events
At the time of writing, much of what Twilight Trails contains event-wise remains a mystery but that doesn't mean we can't make a good guess. Going by recent history there will most likely be Super Mega Raids for both Mega Staraptor and Mega Chandelure. There might even be Dynamax-focused events for the release of Dynamax Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf. (Though this is very much a wait-and-see.) This is the season where we'll most likely see the return of the Go Wild Area event but, like the other events, we're waiting on the details to be announced.
What we do know is coming, however, are the Community Days! Here's the announced Community Day dates for Twilight Trails:
- Saturday 12th September - September Community Day
- Saturday 10th October - October Community Day
- Saturday 21st November - November Community Day
The highlighted Pokémon for these events are yet to be announced at the time of writing, but I'll update the Community Day guide once they're announced.
Finally, a new season means a new set of monthly Go Passes. Latios will be the legendary Pokémon for September's Go Pass, with the following months featuring Kyogre and Groudon.
Here's the Major Milestones you'll see on the monthly Go Passes throughout Twilight Trails:

What are seasons in Pokémon Go?
Originally introduced in December 2021, seasons are in-game periods of time which last for three months and tie together various events are a central theme. During this time, a selection of new features and quality of life changes may be added to Pokémon Go.
This includes:
- Changes to how Pokémon spawn season-to-season, which may see some creatures appearing more regularly or become rarer in the wild for limited time periods.
- Changes to eggs and raids.
- Northern and southern hemisphere-specific spawning, coinciding with the real world seasons themselves.
- Introducing new Pokémon, including new Mega Evolutions, shinies, Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon.
- Different Deerling forms.
- A new Go Battle League season, which will be the same length as the season itself.
- XP boosts or completing specific activities, such as five-star raids for example.
- Introduce other general quality of life improvements.
- A range of in-game events.
- Occasionally new features and season long research quests.
